Mixed Feelings |

I have mixed feelings about this product. Several pieces to this rabbit hutch arrived damaged. There were 3 pieces with the wood split where the manufacturer had placed screws. One of the door latches had pieces missing, preventing it from locking. There are 3 seperate pieces that make up the roof. On the bottom of each piece there are 2 smaller pieces of wood on either side that allow the roof to sit in place so it can be screwed on. Two of those pieces were broken off. The ramp had support pieces missing. Additonally, there is no way to lock the animals in the top part of the cage at night. There is simply a ramp and a hole cut to allow them inside. It smells TERRIBLE out of the box. Also, there is no bottom to the cage (which I knew before purchasing but I wanted to make anyone reading this aware of that as well). The plus side, the cage is very roomy and the perfect size for my small lionhead bunny and my other large rabbit (not sure of breed). Despite pieces arriving damaged, it is still an attractive hutch. I didn't want to hassle with boxing it up and returning it so we were able to improvise to get it put together. The roof is shingled to protect it from the elements. With all of that said, the wood is extremely soft. I feel comfortable using it in my backyard because we have an 8 foot fence to keep other animals out. I would not put this in an area where there are dogs or other creatures that prey on rabbits (or any little critter you put in here) as it would not take much to tear into the wood. We will see how it holds up in Texas weather.
